Ian Mobsby is a Priest in the Church of England and a former Occupational Therapist who is completing a research PhD exploring the views, hopes and aspirations of those who would call themselves ’Spiritual Not Religious’. After working in the NHS, Social Services and charitable sector in the areas of Mental Health and Neuro-disability, Ian has always had an interest in spirituality, wellbeing and contemplative Christian spirituality. More recently Ian has been involved in founding two new monastic communities and is now the Guardian of the Society of the Holy Trinity that promotes more contemplative forms of ecclesial community focused on a deep contemplative spirituality focused on prayerful action. He is also the Priest in Charge of St Lukes Church in North Peckham and the elected Prior of the Wellspring New Monastic Community based in Peckham. He also works for the Diocese of Southwark seeking to promote new forms of ecclesial community. Ian has spoken and lectured around the world and has written a number of books exploring contemporary culture and spirituality, including his seminal book ‘God Unknown’ exploring the implications of a more Trinitarian Christian spirituality.
