Welcome to the 2015 Raynes Park Christmas Festival. We’re celebrating the switching on of the Christmas lights in Raynes Park with a great afternoon of live music, drama, entertainments and fun for all the family.
Back due to popular demand we will again have a live nativity show outside Waitrose. Children can come to pet the donkeys, sheep and goats, plus watch the nativity characters from the Lantern Theatre Company acting out the Christmas story.
This year we’ve got two main stages, featuring performances by local school choirs from Holly Mount, West Wimbledon, Sacred Heart and Raynes Park High schools. There’ll be entertainment provided by Rosie Chesson Dance and Dantastic Children’s Entertainment. And on top of that we’ve got performances lined up from the West Barnes Singers, the Wimbledon Choral Society and the Auburn Jam Band.
As if all that wasn’t enough, you can also visit Santa’s Grotto (all children receive a free gift from Father Christmas), and at 5pm you can come and sing with us around the Christmas Tree as we celebrate the lights coming on, marking the beginning of the festive season in Raynes Park.
So get yourself down to central Raynes Park to celebrate an afternoon of Christmas cheer with the whole community!
This year’s festival is being organised by MyRaynesPark, and run in partnership with the Raynes Park Association, Merton Council, the Raynes Park Association of Independent Businesses, plus a host of other businesses, schools, churches and arts organisations.
